Traffic Cam Houston App Reviews

Been using this app for over a year. It does have a lot of cameras and they are grouped by major roads and/or areas of town. Makes sense and makes it pretty easy to find the camera you want. Came in really handy during the Houston floods in April 2016 to see what areas were flooded or blocked. BUT--this just gives you still photos that you can refresh (by tapping an icon) every few seconds. Its not the live stream traffic cams that you see on the nightly news (Trans Star). I want the Trans Star feeds! If this app would give the live steam video, itd be worth 5 stars all day long! I paid the $1.99 upgrade just out of curiosity. It removes the ad banner (big deal) and it gives you "speed maps" which is nothing but an overhead map of the major roads in and around Houston with some info about what the posted speed limit is on those roads. Pretty useless and boring. Save your 2 dollars and go buy a pack of gum instead.

Ive been waiting for this app for years! Its easy to use and easy to see whats going on. I hope they (TranStar) keeps the data up to date. Love the app!!!

Generally I like to obey the law. And I hope I dont need this App !

The cameras are not live. You cant tell the speed the cars are moving.

The map barely shows anything outside of the Beltway. Camera shots are still photos and not live shots. Keeps asking me to upgrade and pay.

I love this app. I refer to it all the time & I feel it offers accurate information regarding current conditions & if I need to consider alternate routes, if necessary; or to expect the amount of time my current route will take

Really is a great app even be better if you show motion and able to zoom in I think will pay for that. Other than that great job thanks!!

This app works great if you want to see what is going on with traffic. The cameras work great and if you call; the staff is very informative. I have never made a purchase...

Cant do anything without a purchase

Looks like it could be a good app but you cant get any info unless you make in app purchases. Its a scam!

Be prepared to spend money to see. Ill just use google maps traffic. Its free. Who cares about cameras

Some of the camera views could be better. Some of the cameras dont work. But you can see the traffic up to date. Handy.

Does what it should

I want the old version of Transtar because when I open it the entire Houston area map is there & if I want a specific area I can then click on that line. I love Transtar but I want the original version. Thank you.

trash, dont buy. It freezed my phone all the time.

Waste of time.

Theres no escaping the soccer mom in her big black Suburban, or the dually truck riding up your a**. But this app will get you on time to work or class.

Works fine and is up to date. Wish the next button wasnt above favorites but thats all.
